The Lake Champlain Quadricentennial is a year-long series of exciting events commemorating the 400th anniversary of Samuel de Champlain’s exploration of the lake that bears his name. Both Vermont and Quebec are looking forward to hosting thousands of celebrants from all over the world in 2009. For a complete listing of events in Vermont, click here. For further reading about the international collaborative efforts leading to the celebration, check out Bruce Hyde’s article from the Burlington Free Press. This is a great opportunity to learn about and be a part of Vermont’s history!
